WILMINGTON ROTARY CLUB, 2007 GRANT APPLICATION INFORMATION Grant Application Information and New Guidelines Since its inception in 1915, the Wilmington Rotary Club has understood its obligation to provide service for the improvement of our community and of its citizens. With this year’s theme “Rotary Shares,” Rotary continues to fulfill this commitment to community service. In seeking to raise money for worthy projects, the Wilmington Rotary Club will look at the following needs for 2007-08 funding: Children at Risk, International Understanding and Goodwill, and Poverty and Hunger. The Wilmington Rotary Club will NOT support political parties or candidates, organizations representing religious or denominational causes, or association or groups proven to have high administrative or fund-raising costs (20% or more). In addition, the Wilmington Rotary will NOT provide grants to support fundraising efforts of other organizations. We DO seek projects that:
Applicant organizations may apply for grants up to $10,000. The Wilmington Rotary Club will give priority to projects where such amounts can make a difference. When a request to the Wilmington Rotary Club is part of a larger project, the request should identify a specific program within the larger project where the Wilmington Rotary Club’s contribution can have a meaningful impact. Organizations funded in the previous Rotary funding cycle (2006-2007) are NOT eligible to apply for this year’s funding. The Wilmington Rotary Club conducts one annual grants cycle. Proposals must be submitted by Friday, November 16th to be considered during the current review period. Applicants should complete the Grant Application form and return it with four copies, postmarked no later than Friday, November 16, 2007 to: Beth Jenkins Grants Committee (continued) No materials will be returned. Applications will be reviewed by the Rotary Grant Applications committee, and then submitted to the Wilmington Rotary Club Board of Directors for final consideration. All applicants will be notified about funding decisions. Reporting RequirementsGrantees will be required to speak before the Rotary Club to report on how the grant money was used for the benefit of the community.
